Richard Li

Richard learned violin at 10 and taught himself guitar in high school. In college, he began dabbling in Jazz and music composition. In addition to serving as director of the guitar club at National Taiwan University (NTU), he won honors such as second-place at NTU Folk Song Contest, as well as second-place and Best Composerat Tamkang University’s Music Contest. 

Richard started playing bass in his Jazz bands after college. In addition to exposing himself to all kinds of modern Jazz pieces from U.S., Europe, Latin America and Japan over the years, he has spared no efforts to team up with young artists in live houses and major Jazz festivals. He is also a big advocate of the music genre in Taiwan. Since 2008, he has been actively attending international Jazz festivals and trade shows and engaging in extensive exchanges with top-notch musicians. 

Richard is nominated for Best Jazz Producer by 2020 Independent Music Awards (IMAs) and "Best Instrumental Album Producer" by 2022 Golden Melody Awards (GMA).
