Graduated form National Taiwan Normal University, Master program in Pop Music. In junior high school, Allen joined his school’s wind band as a percussionist. When he entered senior high school, with encouragement from his father, he began learning Jazz drums and developed a passion for the instrument.
Moving on to college, Allen led his school’s pop music club as the vice director and performed in many local heavyweight events like Yamaha Band Explosion, Spring Scream and Ho-hai-yan Rock Festival. During his compulsory military service, Allen served as head of the percussion section of the military band from the Ministry of National Defense (MND)’s Combined Logistics Command, being actively involved in activities like national flag raising and lowering ceremonies and concerts at the National Concert Hall in Taipei City.
After completing his compulsory military service, Chen became a member of the youth band of the Dizzy Jazz Big Band. In addition to learning the music genre, he established a particularly strong foundation in Fusion Jazz. Since 2010, he has constantly been invited to perform overseas in countries and territories such as mainland China’s administrative region of Macau, Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shandong, Shanghai, as well as Dubai, Malaysia and Singapore. And, he is now the endorser of Sakae Drums (a Japanese Brand) in Taiwan.
