Allen Chen

Allen is a session drummer in studios and live concert. He graduated form National Taiwan Normal University, Master's program of Pop Music Studies and Industrial. In junior high school, Allen joined his school’s wind band as a percussionist. When he entered senior high school, with encouragement from his father, he began learning Jazz drums and developed a passion for the instrument. 

Moving on to college, Allen led his school’s pop music club as the vice director and performed in many local heavyweight events like Yamaha Band Explosion, Spring Scream and Ho-hai-yan Rock Festival. During his compulsory military service, Allen served as head of the percussion section of the military band from the Ministry of National Defense (MND)’s Combined Logistics Command, being actively involved in activities like national flag raising and lowering ceremonies and concerts at the National Concert Hall in Taipei City. 

Allen became a member of the youth band of the Dizzy Jazz Big Band after college. In addition to learning the music genre, he established a particularly strong foundation in Jazz Fusion. Since 2010, he has constantly been invited to perform overseas in countries and territories such as mainland China’s administrative region of Macau, Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shandong, Shanghai, as well as Dubai, Malaysia and Singapore. And, actively participated in various live performances, recording sessions, music education with deep immersion in Jazz, Pop, Indie, Gospel. He is now the drummer of Quarterback (band), Midnight Midnight (band) and house band leader/ drummer of EZ5 Live House.

Allen is an artist/endorser of Mapex Drums, Zildjian Cymbal and Yamaha Electronic Drum Kits.
